Kirigami - 3D Art made of Paper

Kirigami is a variation of the origami, but in contrast, the artist is allowed to cut the paper (from the Japanese "kiru" = cut, "kami" = paper).
From a simple sheet of paper, complex three-dimensional buildings, landscapes, abstract structures can be created by a relatively simple technique (vertical cutting, horizontal folding).
So are made folding cards, e.g. pop-up cards, which can be used as greeting cards and gift tags, as well as decorative attachments or wind lights (attention: paper is flammable!). Especially with a background lighting the successively arranged planes, cuts and thus the spatial depth unfold their fascinating effect!
But also collages made of paper strips or small installations of cut and folded paper look decorative and in snow white especially filigree!
